Using pictures – While your child is still learning to recognize the letters of the alphabet, you can use pictures (or the actual item) to help them practice their sounds. Find pictures of a bird, a ball, a bat, a bath, a book, and so forth to practice the letter ’B. Choose a letter for the day and encourage your child to find items that start with that letter around the house. Printable worksheets should have nice exercises for this as well.
At a young age, kids are first taught to write letters in print only. When kids reach the age of eight to ten, they are taught how to write in cursive. They may find this quite difficult and boring at first. But one fun way to teach them this is to use worksheets also. The basic cursive worksheets that you can use are Rockin’ Round Letters, Climb’n’ Slide Letters, Loopy Letters, Lumpy Letters, and Mix ’n’ Match.
There are several ways of writing worksheets. Cursive writing worksheets and specialized kindergarten group worksheets are very common amongst the small children. The children get expertise by practicing over with these worksheets and learn the control of hand muscles for writing and follow the pattern of writing, which is helpful for them for their whole life. There are various patterns of the different letter strokes present in these worksheets. The tracing of these patterns makes the kids to slowly learn the structuring of the letter.
It includes the basic sounds each letter produces. Kids try to read the words displayed before them. In the First Alphabet worksheet, kids learn how to write the alphabet. And in the First Animals worksheet, kids try to recognize the animals in the picture and learn the names of these animals.
Why Parents Should Use a Writing Worksheet – While it is common knowledge that teachers use this tool in school, what many of us do not know is that parents can also utilize it at home to supplement their child’s learning. With a writing worksheet, you can encourage your child to develop his or her writing abilities at home, every day. Even for just 30 minutes of practice daily, this could create a significant improvement in your child’s skills. With a writing worksheet, you also have an option to avail of an advanced worksheet that will help older kids with their handwriting and writing abilities.
Worksheets can be saved and reused from one lesson to the next. If a particular worksheet appeared to work better for the students it can be changed and reused for the next lesson, rather than starting over from scratch. Subject specific graphics can be added to worksheets to make them, visually appealing.
